Lode Kuylenstierna tells stories that stick—visually rich, character-first narratives that move between the poetic and the ridiculous, the raw and the composed. Whether he’s working on a commercial or fragmented short film about faith and failure, it’s always about the human layers underneath.

He loves collage-style storytelling with naked human truths (sometimes literally), blending fine art with cinematic instinct. Over the past 20 years he’s directed both high-concept ads and award-winning art films like Homo Sacer and Babymother. His feature debut, Kingdom Hall, is currently in development.

Lode’s work lives in the space between truth and fiction, comedy and discomfort. You might say he directs from the shadow; Carl Jung would be proud.

In 2026, two new projects will premiere: The Sane Society, a nine-part fragment-film series, and Den osmidige (The Tactless Man), a short film about how the disappearance of a younger brother—a notorious con man—on a beach in Gibraltar brings a broken family together.
